Deepings police chase over suspected hare coursing leads to six arrests

Six people were arrested in Market Deeping, yesterday (Wednesday) on suspected driving and hare coursing offences.

A police statement issued today said: "Several reports of hare coursing incidents were reported to us on Wednesday morning, largely in the east of the county.

"Officers later identified two vehicles containing people suspected to be involved in the offences, in Baston. Our officers then pursued these vehicles.

"The pursuit ended just after noon in Northfields Road, Market Deeping, when one of the vehicles collided with another car. No police vehicle was involved in the collision."

Lincolnshire Police continued: "Five of the six occupants of the vehicle were detained at the scene. One other person left the scene but was detained by officers shortly afterwards.

"All six people – five males aged 14, 27, 32, 38 and 40 , and a woman aged 36 – were arrested on suspicion of hare coursing offences, failure to stop, and dangerous driving."
