Police arrest man brandishing chainsaw at Deeping St James pub

A chainsaw-wielding Deeping St James man was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of making threats to kill and affray.

The arrest was in connection with a disorder incident which happened shortly after 1pm on Saturday, 19 October, at The Waterton Arms in the village's Church Street.

The 50-year-old has been released on bail, with conditions, and is due to attend Grantham Police Station in November.

Insp Rachel Blackwell, Community Policing Inspector for Stamford Bourne and the Deepings, said: "We are asking any local residents or patrons of the pub who may have seen anything that lunchtime to contact us."
